I recently polished a 1978 GMC Sierra using Mike's #7 method with fantastic results. Unfortunately it has already developed heavy water spots, what I believe Mike refers to as "type 3" water spots. I have tried everything I can think of to remove them, including repeating my original process but I can not completely get rid of them. Hoping Mike or someone else can give me a better option than continuing to use heavy cutting compound to wear them down.

Here is how all the horizontal surfaces looked when the truck was brought back to me.

After extensive trial and error and several passes with heavy cutting pad and compound it appeared to be getting better.....

That is until I shined my light on it.

How about a good clay, then Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. That's where I would start.

I know you already mentioned Mike's article, posting here for others to read.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've already washed, iron x'd, clayed and then started with my least aggressive polishes/pads and moved up to my most aggressive with poor results
