I took our new commuter car and gave it a good detail. You might think new car, not too many problems, right? Well this one was sitting on the lot for a while and the paint was definitely neglected. Lots of swirls. Lots of water etching. As cheap of a car as this is, the body on it is fairly complex as well, so that wasn't fun.

Washed and clayed. Did a compound with M105. Polished it up with M205. Sealed it with M21. The did a final wax of M26. All done with a PC 7424XP and LC pads. This was the first time I used Meguiar's product through every step. The only thing I really didn't like was how hard it was to remove the M26. Everything else was great, though.

Happy with the results. No more swirls. No more water etching or spots.

Looking good. My sister has an 09 and the roof is a PIA!! How long did it take you?

In total, it was probably an 8-10 hour job which is exactly why I'm picking up a Flex 3401 soon. I'm getting pretty fatigued with having to do any moderate correction work on the PC at this point.

I also need to find something that removes more easily than M26.

How about using the new Meguiars thin pads with the PC. May be less expensive than the Flex if that matters.

I had very good results using an AIO on my dads former car which was a Pearl White paint. Pearl whites hide defects relatively well, but not dirt. The key to keeping them looking great is getting them cleaned by light polishing or paint cleaning.

M21 or M26 should both be easy to remove, if you were having difficulty, it could have been you were applying them to thick.

It's possible. It was the first time in a long time that I did a finishing wax by hand.
