Good evening all.

I have a 2012 Chevy traverse white in color and I have a few questions.

1.The black exterior panels inbetween the windows have some swirls and scratches. It looks and feels like paint but I dont want to screw them up. I was thinking I could attack it like the rest of the painted surfaces....compound, polish, seal and wax. If anyone has had experience with these panels, please let me know.

2. There seems to be a black film that has built up on the car in all the cracks and crevices. I have noticed them in the crevice under the rear window and along the exterior door panel moldings. I was thinking about using a diluted APC and maybe a few Qtips to try and get the black residue out. Any tips?

Thanks for any and all advice,
Kevin

1. They are B pillars, assuming they are the black piano plastic... Compound will destroy them. An ultrafine polish is what I use like a Megs 9 or Menz 4500.

2. Since you are doing a paint correction, APC, Magic Eraser, etc.. It really doesn't matter too much as any imperfections left behind by removing them will be corrected.
