I'm working on the building site of a new highway since a year and for 4-5 years to come. There is always wind and tons of sand in the air. When i finish my day, i have to remove the sand from windshield not to scratch it if i use the wipers.

What is the best way to protect my paint / clearcoat from this harsh environment ? Thanks !!!

I've done a coating last autumn but don't really know how to see if it's still good.

I wouldn't use a cover if it's really that windy and sandy.

That cover is going to get full of sand etc and then you're going to have to constantly clean it before covering your car. If you don't then you'll be scratching your car every time you remove or place it on the car.

Don't drive it to work?

Or park it away from the site (about a mile or more) and then walk?

(Don't laugh, I've done both of those before!)

Coat every exterior surface:
Paint, wheels, glass & trim.
Pressure wash the car before touching it :D

:dblthumb2::iagree:

And put a bike rack on it and bike the rest of the way to the job site.

^^ this is a good idea! Mile on a bike is easily under 7 mins

If you did a coating last fall it should still be there. Which coating did you use? Most consumer grade coatings are rated for 18-24 months.

I would think the coating is sufficient. It'll protect from the dust and sand just sitting on it. Just rinse it clear before washing.
