D114 Clay Lube Question

Okay, I've seen this quote before from Michael Stoops, and our forum member Bob. I'm confused a bit though.

What is Michael Stoops referring to when he says the "standard dilution"?

Here's what I know.
The standard dilution for a Rinseless as intended is 1:256.
The gallon jug has a standard dilution of 1:128 recommended.

Can anyone please clarify for me?

I interpret the word "standard" in Mr. Stoop's
statement that:

"As a clay lube, the standard dilution ratio
works quite well"...

as being Meguiar's "recommended" dilution ratio for D114, when being used as a Rinse-less Wash (RW).
{i.e.: 1:256}


As such:
I use D114...@ the 1:256 ratio...for clay lube.

The way I figure it is the "standard" use is for rinse-less wash so I would also say 256:1

I don't go crazy measuring. Maybe I'm deteriorating my lsp but I don't care. I throw about 3oz in 3 to 4 gallons for rinseless and an ounce in a 32oz bottle for everything else. What are your concerns about being sticklers for proper dilution ratios
