Pictures: 2002 Panoz Esperante - BLACKFIRE Crystal Coat Paint Coating (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-thursday-night-projects/91593-pictures-2002-panoz-esperante-blackfire-crystal-coat-paint-coating.html)
Some one took an rotary buffer to the paint on this Panoz Esperante and ruined the finish. So we removed the holograms and restored a finish worthy of this car's name.
Before
Holograms, swirls and scratches throughout the paint...

How to correctly prime or add product to a Rupes pad...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=95582
What NOT to do....
Don't use the 10 @ 10 Technique with Rupes polishers, pads and products.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=95583
Don't prime your pad like this!
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=95584
Tip
When using the Rupes "system" you can tackle or buff an area that is six times the size of the pad you're using. In this example, these are 7" Rupes pads for the Rupes BigFoot 21 Orbital Polisher.

Mike's Fingerpainting Technique
Sometimes it helps to use your finger to smear some product into a tight area that you need to correct or polish. This does two things,
1. Puts abrasives where you need them.
2. Puts lubrication where you need it.

RUPES = a system approach to polishing paint
A lot of people when considering RUPES think about which tool to purchase. RUPES is actually a system approach with different size tool for different types of panels. The idea being to match the appropriate tool to the panel to be polished.

Thanks Mike.
We had a lot of new guys that night as well as a lot of seasoned regulars. The paint was absolutely horrific when we started and the owner says it's never looked better.
Most of all, the new BLACKFIRE Crystal Coat Paint Coating created a super glassy look that everyone was digging.

Great job with the pictures, Mike. This was such a satisfying project for the team that we appreciate seeing that beautiful finish again. The Rupes polishers are so balanced and comfortable, I actually enjoy using them. (I love my new Bigfoot mini)! Your choice of Blackfire products was "spot on" for this transformation. The deep blue finish looked good after the compound, great after the polish and absolutely incredible after the coating. What a privilege to work on such a special car and achieve that fantastic result! Thanks to Steve for sharing his pride and joy with us. Thank you for sharing your talent and expertise so generously, Mike.
