Needed to clean up the 911 a little bit. Didn't need a whole lot. Paint was already in excellent shape.

I wanted to try out a few 'new' things in my arsenal. 1.) the HD polishes. 2.) Pinnacle Black Label coatings.

Wanted to try out the new HD line. Gave HD polish a shot. Used my Flex 3401 and Rupes LHR75. Finishing pads on both. Wow! Love this stuff! Practically dust free...smells good, long work time and it really took care of a few minor imperfections I had to deal with very well. Diggin it! Dare I say I am liking it more than Menz SF400!

Next up was the Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion. Applied this via machine. No issues.

Then I ventured where I have not before. Coatings. Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating. I started with my door jams first to see how it went on/off/flashed. Goes on easy. 'Spreads/covers' well. A little seems to go a long way. The high spots wiped off easily enough. It seemed to 'darken' the paint a bit. It really appears to have made the metallic pop...and the paint looks like it has a lot of depth to it. So far I am a believer. I will see what the durability/upkeep is and report back.

Next up to bat: Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Glass Coating. Very easy to use! Spray onto the glass, apply/spread/cover the glass, wait approx. 1 minute or so for it to flash, and then wipe away the high spots. It left the glass looking very 'clean' and streak free. Nice.

HD Dress on the tires. Goes on nicely. The consistency seems a little thin, but it's not a negative. Nice 'medium' gloss with one coat. Just what I was looking for.

HD Metal on the tailpipes. Worked great.

On to the pics!

Then I ventured where I have not before. Coatings. Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating.

Interesting, I have look into their website, nothing about MSDS (ingredients) on all their products. Must be trade secret  but most Nano Caramic (Synthetic) Paint Coatings when looked into their MSDS look something simple like this:
Components:
Petroleum Distillates Light fraction of "Hydrotreating"
Distillates (petroleum) Hydrotreated middle

Nano Waxes with Carnauba (as well things that promise hydrophobic properties) look something like this:
Light Distillates 30-50%
Carnauba Wax < 50%

Links:

MSDS (http://www.nanoskinusa.com/msds.html)

http://www.nanoskinftp.com/magento-download-files/MEGA-TREND-Tri-Fold-DM.pdf

Now go & find in their (most of them don't have production facilities, somebody else makes it) office "diamond class carbon technology", diamonds, tungsten steel, basalt...

I have nothing against such products, but to make out of it magic like saying to somebody: your car was coated for 3Y (sometimes 7Y ) with best nanotechnology that uses inorganic diamond class carbon technology is silly at best.
I offered such nano coating Made in Germany withTÜV Certificate (only 2 companies that I know in Germany got it) to few guys who are not stupid, they asked me Marc what it gives? I said the truth - nothing special, if you want I apply it.
No, then there is no need.
Now I don't even offer it anymore because I myself don't believe in it (for me it's like clear spray wax or detailer) but if somebody will want, I got it.

Could you "see" a difference between the Pinnacle Coating vs when you've applied a traditional wax or sealant? Many times the pix flatten things out and all the final beauty shots look the same. Don't get me wrong, the paint looks great but....just trying to figure out if there's more to coatings than longevity. (which isn't a factor for me)

addy: No, not really. I did noticed that it appeared to darken the paint upon application. Other than that, I would say that I did not see any noticeable difference between the coating and say a nice nuba/sealant. My paint was 95% flawless underneath and I think that is the key...it would look great with almost anything on it as an LSP. (with some minor differences of course- some do look 'wetter/deeper/etc')

Hope this answered your question!
