First off, I want to say a sincere thanks to Ron for letting me use his garage and time and supplies on detailing my Camaro. It's very much appreciated!!

It's been a while since I polished my own car and not having my own garage anymore, I asked for Ron's help and he agreed :)

My car had some mild to moderate swirling after a couple years and I wanted to get rid of those and apply a coating for its longevity.

Here's a pic similar to how it came. Not so dirty, but a few bugs. Note this is the next day so you won't see swirls in this pic. In fact, it was difficult to capture the swirls in the camera so no before pics, but they were visible to our eyes.

Process was wash with blackfire waterless, poorboys bug remover, didn't really need claying because I clayed three weeks ago, Ron used his flex and orange flat pad and fg400, I used my Rupes 21 and cyan hdrotech pad and fg400. No polishing was needed as you'll see.

Here's Ron doing his thing:

We didn't have time to hit the wheels, tires, trim, interior etc so we focused on the paint.

After compounding, the paint was LSP ready. FG400 is amazing stuff!!

I apologize for not taking better before and after pics, but here's some after compounding pics:

After compounding, we washed the car. DP coating prep polish to remove oils and then gloss coat was applied.

At this point, it was dark out so here's a far pic to show you what it looked like in the sun (immediately after compounding) and some night shots.

I'll get some after shots in the light as soon as I get a chance!

Thanks for looking!

Great job! FG400 on factory painted late model GM paint is gold!!! Used the same on a red ZL1 awhile back. FG400, orange CCS pad, topped with Synergy.

Love that color BTW!!!

Ron was a great help!! He's a boss with the flex.

Hahaha I saw the little girls, so I'm assuming he was hiding their trophies lmao ;)

Yeah FG400 is great stuff. I really liked it for a one step and it's amazing the finishing ability, even with a cutting pad!

Thank you, I wasn't getting a Camaro until I found it in that color! Unfortunately, it has been discontinued :( oh well, makes it more rare for me!

Offered the Synergy. He said "no". Since he has no place to keep it up, coatng makes the best sense. But would have loved to see it on there.

Very nice job you guys!!! Paint is looking great! Nothing beats a coating especially when life gets busy.

Those are new wheels right Roshan? It's the updated Camaro wheels if I'm not mistaken. Are you planning to plastidip it again white?

Marc, you have an extreme eye for detail my man!

They are the new wheels. Take off wheels and tires from a brand new Camaro costs $1100. New tires from tirerack cost $900 plus fees of getting a shop to put them on and mount them and what not.

Bought the takeoff wheels, sold my old wheels and shot tires for $350. So ended up getting new wheels and tires for $850 compared to just new tires for over $900. No brainer really :D

As for the plastidip, no. They are more of a hassle than it's worth. You have to apply so many coats to get it looking good white and even though I had plenty of coats it still came off in pieces and it was difficult to maintain. I'm sticking to the normal color for now :props:
