View Full Version : Wash new microfiber towels?

Do you wash new microfiber towels before using? I bought some towels online (not AG -- sorry) and they had "something" on them that caused streaking (not the naked human kind). They also left behind thousands of pieces of lint. An online review recommended washing the towels at least twice before using.

And pull the tags if they have them.

New MFs should always be washed before their first use: all residue (for instance, harsh chemicals left after the production process), lint, debris, etc. that may be present will be washed away and won't swirl or scratch your paint.

Likewise, MFs usually have strong colors that may discolor other items present in your wash load: this way you won't risk ruining the appearance of other cherished towels, etc.

Yes. I always do two washes along with double rinses (vinegar in first rinse)
