Greetings,

This weekend I plan on claying and polishing my 2015 Mustang. I was then going to top it with Collinite 915. I have a half bottle of CG JetSeal laying around. Does anyone have any experience laying down JetSeal prior to the 915? I figured this might help with overall longevity. The car is silver and is my daily driver but is extremely babied. It currently has Collinite 845 on it but I was trying to get the shine to the next level.

I have no experience with Jet Seal so I cannot comment on its performance. I can, however, give you some ideas of what I do which is very similar to what you are doing.

I always put a sealant on before I put wax on my ride (LSP). What you are doing is similar with just different products. IMO, it will help with longevity.

As for shine MY GUESS is YES you will take it to the next level. Prep is 95% and the other 5% is the LSP. Please show pics when you are done.

I washed, clayed (did not need polishing), sealant and then waxed (Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax) this last weekend. Here is one of the pics.

Didn't 915 just take 2nd place at a wax show ?. And you think you can get more pop out of it. Maybe find the writeup and use what took first but I think it was like $350.00.

Using a sealant prior to 915 is a waste of time IMHO. My guess is whatever solvent is in 915 will likely remove the sealant anyway.

Thank you for the quick responses everyone. I was really only considering throwing on the JetSeal because I have it, but I certainly don't need to waste the time if it won't add anything.

Also, I've put 845 on three cars so far and the results have been fantastic but I have yet to try the 915. I want to make the surface as perfect as possible before doing so (the paint is in nice shape as it sits). I was planning on using Meg's ultimate polish on a white buff and shine pad, followed by a wipe down with carpro eraser and then the 915. Any thoughts on this approach?

Sounds like a good approach, let us know how it turns out and what your thoughts are of the 915.

Don't take much stock in 915 supposedly being stomped.

915 is stunning and just keeps shining months and months after a single coat.

It currently has Collinite 845 on it but I was trying to get the shine to the next level.

I don't really think applying a film-layer of Collinite #915 over a Sealant is going to increase the longevity of either product; nor do I think the resulting amount of "shine" will be above the "level-of-shine" that Collinite #845 provided for you. That's just me.

Why don't you make this an experimental LSP-journey:
• 1/2 of the hood with the Jetseal/#915 combo
• the other 1/2 of the hood with just the #915
•{Or some other LSP-application(s) of your choice}

Please keep us informed. TIA.

I may try this if I have time. My order arrives tomorrow and I plan on detailing the car either Friday afternoon or Saturday. I'll post pics and thoughts on the 915 when I'm done.

Well I think my quest for the ultimate wax is over. My car looks and feels fantastic. I hope these pictures do it justice. The process was:
Wash with Chemical Guys Honey dew snow foam.
Wipe down with Nanoskin fine sponge
Polish with Megs Ultimate polish on a DA with Buff and Shine green polishing pad.
Wipe down with CarPro Eraser
Apply Collinite 915 with DA with a red buff and shine finishing pad.

Looks great. Something to try and I do not know why is to wipe it down with a QD. I use DG Fast and Clean. But it seems to give a little more shimmer after applying the Collinite the first time. Won't hurt to at least try it and tell me it's my imagination.

I was going to hit it with CG Hybrid V7 but I ran out it time. I'll do it in the morning and report back.
