I have an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust and was wondering what I should use to polish the exhaust. By the way I am looking to polish the exhaust/mufflers and anything that can be seen from the rear of the car to include the tips.

My concern is polishing with a metal polish would "burn" off due to the heat from the exhaust providing protection and shine only until the first time I drive the car after polishing.

Any information on what to use and in general in this en devour is greatly appreciated.

I like using Simichrome Polish on SS exhaust components.

No matter what you use, keep in mind stainless is much harder than aluminum. You need speed to really shine it up (a drill instead of by hand), along with a polish more aggressive than the type used on aluminum.

I like Meguiar's 3 metal polishes. Depending on the condition of them you can choose which one to use. Then I seal with Wolfgangs Metal Sealant.

I just polished the visible part of my exhaust with 1Z Metal polish (Simichrome metal is excellent also), cleaned 3x with Eraser then coated them in CQUK. I am curious to see how long it lasts.
