Well today I had another HUGE truck to do, a black F350 Super Crew Dually. When the guy brought it over I was almost overwhelmed. He uses it to pull a trailer that he transports hot rods, classic cars, and motorcycles across country with. Like I said when he pulled up the paint looked really faded and I was a bit overwhelmed but I remembered what Nica always says, "The bigger they are the harder they fall". I do like that with the truck being so big everything is pretty easy to get to and it had a lot of flat spots, well except for those huge wheel wells!
Like I said and you will see in the pics the paint almost looked dark gray as opposed to black and he said he really wanted it black again. I really wanted to use my rotary but still don't have full confidence in myself with it yet. I have done a couple of trucks with it but they both had paint that I couldn't hurt regardless of what I did. I actually started on the hood with the Hitachi rotary and a foamed wool pad and it came out really great but took me a while as I was very methodical about it. I figured if it took me that long on the whole truck the guy might not get it back before nightfall :p . So I moved to the trusty PC and coupled with my new Menzerna Intensive Polish it did a great job. As my confidence grows with the rotary I hope to use it pretty much exclusively, but until then I'll keep practicing.
Well I used some products for the first time today: Duragloss 901, Menzerna Intensive Polish, Duragloss Metal Polish #881, Amazing Roll-Off, and (thanks to my man from Texas Dust 2 Glory) Liquid Souveran, and I'll give a review of each at the steps where I used them.
Tires/Wheels: DP Gel Wheel Cleaner on tires and wheels. The wheel wells got Megs APC and both were cleaned with a black tire schmitt. I dressed the wheels with DP Gloss Tire Gel and the wheel wells with Stoners More Shine. Man I love the More shine but I go through it like no tomorrow. What else do you guys reccommend for the wheel wells and dressing engines? Finally the wheels were polished with DG Metal Polish. I liked the polish as it went on and off rather easily and I didn't even use my mother's powerball. Not sure that the wheels would have shined a lot with anything that I had but they were a marked improvement. I think the DG polish is a good product just not sure if these wheels were the best testing area for something that I haven't used and have nothing to compare it to. We'll see next time I use it how it does.
Engine: The engine was misted down with water and sprayed with ARO. I thought the engine was too nasty and dirty for just the Megs APC so I tried the ARO. Man this stuff lives up to all the hype here. I was impressed with the results and how easily it cut through the dirt and grime. I then rinsed and dressed the engine with Stoners More Shine and guess what - It must be tomorrow because I'm all out  .
Wash: Bugs got a combo of Poorboy's Bug Squash and Stoners Tarminator and the Pinnacle Safe Scrub. I used the DG 901 for the first time and put it in my AG foam gun. I only used 2oz and it did a very very good job. I think that maybe I could have used another ounce and it might have foamed a little more. It did foam very good especially for a soap that isn't specifically designed for a foam gun. The cleaning ability I would rate 5 stars. I am really glad I purchased this soap and will probably be trying a 50/50 mix with my favorite DP Xtreme in the future. I will confess and admit that I did put a small shot of Surf City soap in with the 901. I just love the cleaning ability of the SC so much that I find it hard not to use at least a little bit in every batch of soap I have. I used my White/yellow schmitt.
Glass: Glass got the usual Surf City Clearly Better glass cleaner applied with MF and removed with WW.
Exterior Trim/Bumpers: Trim got the usual Poorboys Trim Restorer and as always trim came out magnificent.
Chrome and the Big Wing thing: Well I used the Surf City Killer Chrome and the tip I got from Steven from Surf City Garage. The Killer Chrome is very thin and he said what they do is put some in a shallow container and soak down a finger pocket (like the Wolfgang). They then apply it in a circular motion and then buff off with MF. This is what I did and it worked great and no spillage of SCKC :righton: . For the big wing thing after I put the Killer Chrome on I buffed it off with my rotary and a wool pad and man did it shine!
Interior: Interior got the norm. I vacuumed with my shop vac, then wiped everything down with DP Total Interior Cleaner and topped with DP Surface Protectant. Inside was just dusty and was very easy to clean and man was I glad considering how much exterior I had to do!
Paint: Ok, paint looked really oxidized and I really wanted to use the Hitachi and did in fact use it on the hood but like I said I needed to finish before sundown so I moved to the PC with an orange LC pad. I used the Menzerna Intensive Polish and boy did it do a number on that paint! Just look at this 50/50 shot of the door:

The Menzerna brought this truck back to life or should I say "black to life"! I was amazed at how wet the paint looked after the polish. It got rid of a lot of scratches as well. I love this product and only hate I waited so long to try it. Again another 5 star product.
Well as I was finishing up the polish work the postman came up and I saw him put a box in my mailbox. I thought oh please let that be from Dust2Glory. Dust was kind enough to hook me up with some Liquid Souveran. He had said in my other thread that it would have made my black jeep look awesome so when I looked in the mailbox and saw a present from the great state of Texas I was like :righton: . This stuff went on and off like butter. I applied it with the PC at speed 4 with a red LC CCS pad. When I went to wipe it off I couldn't believe how easy it came off and the black looked wetter than it had before. You guessed it - 5 stars. Dust2Glory all I can say is thanks and you rock!
