Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve. I'm from Northern NJ (about 15 minutes from NYC). I've always had a passion for cars. Specifically muscle/pony cars.

My parents owned a mustang and Camaro throughout the years. and now I'm on my third mustang and my wife owns a Camaro.

I recently became interested in detailing because I was living in an apartment with no access to a garage or hose and literally would go to the car wash (with the things that touch and rub the car) every 2 weeks for about 2 years.

Having moved into a house recently with a garage driveway and hose, I now have a chance to enjoy my passion which is making my cars look good and maybe even growing it into something more.

Below is a list of what I currently own. Let me know if what additions you guys think I need.

List:
Washing:
3x 5 Gallon Buckets (one for Soap, one for Rinse, one for wheel brushes which I don't yet)
1x One wool Wash Mitt
2x Grit Guards
30x 8"x8" microfiber towels
1x 1.58 gpm 1,500psi pressure washer
1x MTM Foam Cannon for low Pressure
1x Chemical Guys Citrus Daily Car Wash with Extreme Suds
1x Gallon Meguiar Wheel Brightener

Detailing:
1x Porter Cable 7424xp with 3" backing plate
No Pads
1x M105
1x M205
1x Sonax Polymer Netshield

Clearly I need more in the detailing section but it's all I have so far. I am absolutely open to suggestions.

Attached are pictures of my car as it stands right now (hold your breath guys).

Boy, you just missed a detailing day up in Norwood last weekend, that would have been a good crash course. Welcome to the forum!

Might be talking about the one this past weekend at Detailers Domain, they're in Norwood. I couldn't make it but my friend went. I work near them so I can just pick stuff up on my lunch break most of the time. Very convenient! I'm in northern NJ too.

By the way, let's see some more pictures of your Mustang...

I agree with sectec. It was a good event. I was there and brought my brother who is retired and wants to start detailing his own cars.

Slonin I'm in Pompton Lakes about 15 minutes from NYC. We're are you around

Um, it's a little awkward, although the host is a sponsor over on the .org forum, they are a competitor to Autogeek and the featured product line of the detail day is not sold by PBMG. If you were to google "car detailing norwood NJ" it would be pretty easy to find.

Yeah, if only the sponsor would post some reminders on the .org forum after the original announcement, maybe some of us wouldn't forget about it and miss it, not that I know anyone like that...

Welcome to AG! Mustang guy myself and work in NJ. Missed the DD last weekend because of a detail I had booked, but stop by every once in awhile to pick up some stuff.

Welcome to AG! Mustang guy myself and work in NJ. Missed the DD last weekend because of a detail I had booked, but stop by every once in awhile to pick up some stuff.

I was able to to make it to the detailing clinic actually and learned some pretty good stuff. But honestly it was very very crowded and I'm only 5'5" so it was extremely difficult to see. There's actually a picture of me there! But I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it on here. I also got to meet Larry Kosilla there.

I actually have a PC7424xp and no pads. I tested it out with whatever pads the guys sent me with whatever was in the bottle that he sent me on my in-laws jeep (sitting rotting away). and I thought the results were pretty cool. Hence why I'm pursuing this hobby.

I just bought a house with a garage in Clifton. So if someone would like to come take a look at my car and help me determine what I need and perhaps even what I should add to my arsenal, offer up and I will PM you.
