Is MM a different kind of sand paper? or is it just another name for it?

If it is what I am thinking of its a sandpaper with a open design ..meaning it looks like screen with abrasives on it..its suppose to be like a self cleaning type sand paper....it has a very fine mesh to it

Micro mesh is a great sandpaper. Very fine and all of the grit is the same size. Great for wet sanding. And it goes up to 12,000 grit. You can polish as fine and shiny as you like..

I just used some 4000 grit paper on a detail over the weekend. I used it dry (no water) and it worked great.

Here's where I buy it from:
