Bought a new G110v2 and have questions about buying non-Meguiar's pads.

I have the W68DA backing plate.

The G110v2 I bought came with three (3) Meguiar's 7 inch Softbuff 2.0 pads. I chose W7207, W8207, and W9207

I will be polishing with the Meguiars #105 and #205 and/or Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish...

***************

I watched the DVD with Mike Phillips; thanks by the way!

It appears as if it would generally be reasonable to start with a polishing pad (i.e. Meguiar's Yellow one) and some #105 or UC then follow-up with a Finishing pad and some #205... or UP... keeping in mind to try the least aggressive product first, of course.

*****************

Now I want to buy more pads. Which Lake Country ones will work with my backing plate?

Do I need to buy another backing plate like the W67DA?

Being the W68DA (backing plate I have), my assumption is that I need at least a 6.5"pad right but even then I need to be careful because the pads may be recessed???

Obviously, a 5.5" LC pad would not fit my W68DA backing plate because the plate is about 6" in diameter.

Will LC 6.5" pads fit the W68DA plate?

I don't have a Megs polisher, but if I did, I would stay with their ecosystem and use this backing plate instead: Meguiars Soft Buff DBP5 DA Polisher 5 inch Backing Plate (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-w67da-5-inch-backing-plate.html) and these pads: Meguiars 5 Inch DA Foam Discs (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-da-foam-discs.html). The smaller and thinner pads will spin better, feel better, and give you more control and correction ability.

Get the new thin foam discs in 5" with the backing plate as stated up above. They work great.

Another vote for a 5" backing plate and 5"-5.5" pads also you will get quicker results with less stress on you and the machine. I like these pads cheap and easy. Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Pads 6 Pack, foam pad kit, build a kit, buffing pads, curved edge pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-beveled-pad-kit.html)
