I am wearing on delivery of a C7 Corvette with aluminum chrome wheels. What do you suggest for sealing the wheels to prevent brakedust buildup?

Thanks in advance.

Coat them with a coating such as PBL Wheel Coating.

•No car-care products are going to prevent 100 percent
of brake dust build-up. Or, brake dust sintering/sticking
to wheels' faces, inner/outer barrels.
-They may slow it down some so clean-up, in a timely
manner, is easier to perform.

•I currently use Sealants, such as Wolfgang Deep Gloss
Paint Sealant (WDGPS), on my chromed wheels. A Coating
is planned for them to be sealed with pretty soon.

RE: Corvette OEM brake dust build-up:

• As a Corvette owner I now live with it as a
trade-off for the "performance braking option".

-Someday, though, I may replace the OEM pads
with HAWK Ceramics; bed them in; and keep in
mind these words of Caution: Not For Tracking!

-(everywhere else is fine). :)

Chromed aluminum wheels on a C7 Corvette............?

My guess is you could get polished aluminum wheels with a clear coat.
I have sealed mine with a paint sealer for durability.
Clear coat is paint without pigment.

Hope this helps.

OK...Let's call them:
Chrome-plated cast aluminum alloy wheels.

You know...
the casting alloy that is of very low quality aluminum that contains a lot of silicon and other tramp materials.

{Doesn't sound as pretty as chromed aluminum, though.}

And...I'm willing to bet up to $1.000,000,000
(OOOPS! I meant: $1.00...I hate auto correct!)
that the chrome wheels the OP is referencing,
are not going to be ClearCoated.

Never heard of clear coated chrome wheels. I use Blackfire Metal Sealant on my chrome wheels. Clean up is a breeze. I just use a waterless wash (UWW) and a mf towel as the brake dust and dirt wipes right off the wheel.

The pricing summary lists them as CHROME ALUMINUM. They are not clear coated nor painted. Thanks for the suggestions .

I'm using DP wheel coating on mine. So far so good.

Try a fine grade clay bar, followed by wax. Slick as ice & super easy to clean.

I have a C7 with chrome wheels. I don't seem to have a big brake dust problem. Maybe i'm just not driving hard enough. Anyway, I just use a chrome polish like Mothers. In between details I spray them with Windex and wipe with a microfiber towel. It may be super simple, but the car is a trophy winner so something must be right about it.
