Greetings,

A couple weeks ago I did up my 2015 Silver Mustang with Collinite 845 by following this guide:
Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40243)
I have since done the same on a friends 2014 Audi A4 in crystal black pearl. Both cars came out amazing so I'm sold on the Collinite brand. My question is how much better will 915 look? Besides my silver Mustang, my wife has a pearl white Pathfinder that currently has CG JetSeal on it. With both our cars being light I wasn't sure if it's worth the cost to try 915. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Appearance is somewhat subjective, only way to find out, is try it yourself.:props:

RE: "Is Collinite 845 a gateway wax"?

Yep.
I'd say it's kinda like Pabst Blue Ribbon
is a gateway to White Fluff-LSD.

I went ahead a put a layer of 845 on my wife's car this afternoon. It looks awesome. I'm going to try the 915 next time a sale rolls around.

915 made a huge difference on my white car compared to 845. Check out my post under product reviews.

845 is a gateway I love it although I have laid a couple coats of wolfgang sealant down. Both might fine kinda like dating 2 sisters.

Gateway wax...that's a good one!! I never looked at it that way, but I guess you are right.

Next thing ya know, you have 476, but you only use in the winter. You hear 915 is better, but you are almost afraid to try it because maybe 845 won't do it for you anymore.

Spring is here, so you need a hit of the 920 to clean up the boat fiberglass, followed by some 925. Ya know, just to make her look good.

Then, you scored some 850, but that's just to make the metal shiny.

Holy crap... it IS a gateway wax!

I need HELP!

It may be a gateway wax, but I'm not sure to what.

I too used it over the weekend as part of my twice-a-year detail on the family car fleet. This time it was on my black pearl VW. On a well polished car, it looks amazing and I get great endurance out of it.

My only problem is it has brought me to a cross roads in my strategy now that I'm down to a half bottle. Do I go with the 915 which will look great on all my vehicles and keep up with the bi-annual application, or do I seek out even longer lasting protection and go with a coating....hmmm

I am going to order some. So what is your strategy? Put the 915 on top of the 845 or use them independently?

This is the type of feedback I was hoping for. Real world experience with white and/or silver.

Its a gateway to higher quality lesser known brands than whats for sale at the autoparts stores. It just happens to be inexpensive on top of being a great long lasting wax.

I think if 845 sold for $30-40 a bottle people would still buy it because of its longetivity.

sorry, but i never used 915. I just tried 845 for the first time about 1 month ago. I can say i was impressed. Hints why i want 915....i never used that, but reviews on here are great so why not give it a try.

As far as doing one first....maybe someone with experience with both can chime in....i love the 845...and would like to know how the 915 is comparable
