Hey guys,
I decided to purchase an inverter to install in my detailing van. Basically I want to use it instead of a generator.
Now, inverters are available from 10 watts to 3000 watts. I am really unsure what to buy. I tried to find out what the power output of my alternator is but the information is hard to come by. For my 2005 Dodge Caravan I have found alternators ranging from 90 Amps to 160 Amps. If I have a 90 Amps one 1000W inverter would be ideal... if I have 160 Amp one then a 1500W or 2000W one would be a better choice.
Any idea how to find out the amperage of my Alternator?
Also what would be a minimum power output to drive most of the tools we use for detailing?
Any of you guys went this way for a mobile rig instead of a generator?
