Hi,

Last year, my town decided it was a bright idea to enforce parking through use of extremely adhesive decals (which go on the back of the car, not the glass). Fast forward, I need to remove the old one and replace it with this year's.

Can someone please suggest a PAINT SAFE way to remove the old decal/sticker, using stuff I would normally find around the home?

Thank you,

Jon

Steam or a heat gun would be the best way to loosen up the adhesive on the sticker and slowly peel it off.

thank you - might try a hair dryer in that case, as I don't have a heat gun

Heat it up with a heatgun/hairdryer or a steamer and slowly peel it off. If any residue is left behind get some adhesive remover/bug and tar remover/etc. and gently rub it off with a microfiber.

Naptha or even WD-40 do a good job of dissolving the leftover glue.

Without harming the paint. Other than removing all the wax.

I hate parking decals. Even on the glass they suck, so for anyone who has to deal with them on the glass, buy some clear cling vinyl and stick the decal to the vinyl then you have an easily removable decal.
