Mini Review:
Surf City Garage Road Trip Grime Destroyer

I had a chance to put this product to the test this past Saturday. I met a guy at a local festival who had just driven his car through fresh road tar/oil four days earlier. Just my luck the car is white. I really thought I had my work cut out for me and that this was going to be a very time consuming detail. All in all I was able to cut through all of the tar/oil in about an hour. The pics don’t do it justice but let’s just say that Surf City Garage Road Trip Grime Destroyer and a Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar Pad worked wonders together. The Grime Destroyer did its stuff very well; I used the Pinnacle Pad to spread the Grime Destroyer across all of the panels because the product is very thick and almost gel as it is sprayed. It did take some elbow grease to remove the tar but it wasn’t too bad. I was happy with the results and how quickly the caked on tar mess came off. Now on to the Show N’ Shine….

The Detail
Exterior Only

Rinsed down with plain water
Attacked the tar/oil with Surf City Garage Road Trip Grime Destroyer
Spread the Grime Destroyer with the Pinnacle Pad
Let this dwell for 10-15 minutes per section
Because of the severity of the tar/oil I used the Pinnacle Pad to scrub off the tar
Rinsed the vehicle again and the washed with DP Xtreme Shampoo and Foam Gun
Ultimate Guzzler for dry down
DP Wheel Gel Cleaner and black ShMITT
Polished with XMT360 on the UDM with CCS Orange Pad
Pinnacle Signature Series II
DP Krystal Vision on windows
DG #265 on tires

Thanks Meghan and Pirex!
White cars are no fun for me either. I'd rather detail just about any other color, sorry Sparkie. ;)

I have a few other Surf City products that I have yet to try. If Road Trip is any indicator we may be on to a nice line of products. Can't wait to test the rest out.

Great review. Had no idea but it's nice to know that there's a product like that out there. Good job on the car.

Nice job and review Al. I could have used some of that Grime Destroyer about a month ago on my truck when I got stuck going down some new black top.

When they put down new black top they should have signs up "Caution Your Car Will Be Full Of Tar If You Proceed". I try to avoid new black top if I can but sometimes you get stuck going through because there's no where to turn and you can't back up.

Very good job. I am a big fan of Surf City products. Not sure what other products you have of theirs but I expect that you will not be disappointed.

My wife has the same truck, if she ever brought it home looking like that she'd be looking for food stamps !

Had you used the Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug Pad before?
I just used mine for the first time this weekend and loved it! From the looks of the pad I was worried about scratching, but it worked great.

He actually got out of his car and "chatted" with the crew. Needless to say he was not happy.
