Hey all,

I've found a reasonably priced random orbital buffer for about $115 CAD. Seems to be a well-priced alternative to Meguiars, Porter Cable, Flex and Griot's Garage.

Anyone have any experience with this machine? Do you know if it would be worth spending the extra $80 to get a Porter Cable 7424XP?

Thanks guys

1) Ive never used it so I can't personally say
2) based on quick amazon reviews (11 of them) they all rate it well and say it works well.
3) the Porter Cable 7424XP on Autogeek is 129.99, so only $15 more than the Wen 6018. Or you can look into a kit, which will of course cost you more but more bang for your buck due to the reduced pricing.

Again, never used the Wen but someone on here probably has and can speak up. But the Porter Cable is also a proven DA Polisher.

Sorry...just noticed you said $115 CAD (i missed the CAD!) Used google and I see the porter cable at 129.99 in US is $166 in CAD. My mistake.

I can see how this changes some things.

No no that's okay. These things happen :)

But yeah, you can definitely see where I'm coming from now. I think I'll try the Wen out. Seems like it has pretty decent reviews.

Thanks guys

i would pass and buy a DA that has a proven track record by a reputable company. the GG6 would be my choice...

Take a look at the Wen website--specs are not too bad and it has a 2 year warranty. Looks like it has a standard backing plate. I'd verify that you can change backing plates so you can equip it with a 5" BP so you can use 5 or 5.5" pads. If so you could use the new Megs 5" THIN pads to get the most out of this polisher.
