View Full Version : I did not bring this car back from the dead (Pics) and need help

My step son came to visit today. I told him to bring his car dirty, I had some new products I wanted to try. Well was it ever dirty! :eek: This car was in bad shape, but I did what I could in a few short hours.

PBSS and Surf City Garage
PB Bug Squash
Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad
Pinnacle Ultra PolyClay
DP Wheel Cleaner
Dressing ~old non AG product
Black Again
303 Aerospace
AQ Wax

Man this car was nasty! It felt bad just washing it. There were so many things on it (tree sap, tar, bugs) it felt like washing sandpaper. Here a few before shots.

I did the best I could with the products I had on hand. I used 2 bars of clay. I could not believe the stuff it was picking up. I didn't even get it all. I am thinking I needed a stronger clay. If there is such a thing.
Please don't comment on the poor job on the wheels. They were in such bad shape I new I didn't have the time to get it all. After Claying I used the Surf City Wash & Wax. I really liked it, seemed slick had a lot of suds and smelled good too.
Well here is what I was able to get done. Be sure to check out the tail pipe at the end, I need some help with that.

1) Pimp slap step-son for the dirty car

I have used paint for a wood stove to paint mufflers and tips. Other than that and a chrome tip, not much to do.

Looks like a good job with what you had to work with!

You could also use some cheap black satin spray paint on that muffler/tip as it's far enough back not to get extremely hot.

Tonya cars don't always come back 100%..you did a nice job with your stepsons car ..

btw,the best part for me was applying the ole tone nail polish to those pretty little toes...
i like the giggle sound you let out everytime i touch'em ...lol

Tonya, I disagree. I think you did bring that car back! It looks way better after you finished with it. I doubt much could be done with that tail pipe. Maybe the PS21 Polishing Soap? But even then I don't know that it would be worth it.

Good job! Was the Step Son surprised?

Nice job on the RSX. Looks like new again! I always use chrome and wire wheel acid on all my exhausts that I do. It brings back the original aluminum or stainless to factory look!

Tonya you can use Steelwool #0000 and AIO to clean those exhaust tips..

Thanks for the suggestions! It just might come to that. ~ Darn now that song is going to be stuck in my head again. :D

Good job! Was the Step Son surprised? No he was in and out checking the progress, so not a suprise. He is very much like his father.... remember the dirty nasty boat pics. Plus, he is very easy going... doesn't get excited about much. He was very greatful and knew I worked hard. He said thanks did you have fun with your addicition. Any time you need my help with your addicition just let me know. ~ smart but had been talking to his father. hee hee hee:D

I don't know but I like how it turned out, looks good to me. Well done Tonya, I like the reflection oh and I really like the vehicle. I owned one not to long ago, but had to sell it in due to garage space.
