Hi. I have been washing cars since I am a little kid. I was never that particular about doing it until I bought a 2003 Harley. I bought my wife a 2012 Mustang Convertible and it is black, which I know is a tough color to maintain. So I am joining to learn how to keep scratches to a minimum, when washing.

I have never paid to have a car detailed. but I know I could never be as good as good professional. My problem is how do you know who is good? Is there a way to find good professionals in your area?

We plan on this being a summer car only, so I am looking forward to any help, to make it last. Thanks

Welcome Ron.

Probably the best way to find a good professional in your area would be to start a new thread titled "Looking for a pro detailer in xyzzz"

I would trust the opinion of the forum members here over some random yelp reviews.

And who knows there might even be a helpful forum member out your way who can show you the ropes and show you how to get pro results yourself.

I'm 20 minutes south of Lake Geneva. Not a pro, but passionate and anal. You are welcome to share in my anal retentive ways of detailing. I have a Flex and a Porter Cable you can get your hands on if you would like.
