Anyone know if there is an issue with sealent bonding to your finish if you use a glaze first?

I have never has nor heard of an issu with bonding a sealent over a glaze.
I would assume it would depend both on the sealent and the glaze used as some products just arnt compatable.. but no I personaly have never heard of an issue

Yes you can have a problem trying to bond a sealant to glaze. It's my understanding that a sealant may smear if put over oils or carnauba waxes. Rule of thumb is a sealant needs clean paint to bond too. That said there are exceptions; PB and AW are two that will bond. There may be others. Same with exceptions to glazes but I don't know any.

If the glaze contains carnuba, like XMT finishing glaze, then the sealant won't bond. Some other glazes like Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is designed to be the last step before the WGDG Sealant.

alot of glazes use oils and fillers that a paint sealant finds harder to seal too. As such you should look for a sealant friendly glaze (Wolfgang) or skip unless using a wax.

Bonding:
Carnauba wax will bond to a cross-linked polymer; conversely if a polymer is applied on top of Carnauba wax the cross-linking / bonding may be compromised. Although I would not state categorically that a product that is formulated with oils will abort the cross-linking or bonding process of a polymer just that the process may not be as complete, and its strength and durability may be affected

A polish or product that contains oils should be cleaned with a 1:1 solution of Isopropyl alcohol / distilled water or Menzerna Final Inspection before the application of a polymer
(See also cross-linking and Set-up Process)

Notes -
a) Danase Wet Glaze is a pure gloss enhancer i.e. on-abrasive and with a low solvent content); it’s made with acrylic polymers that form a covalent bond to the paint surface, polymers also allow it to be topped with a wax or sealant without any bonding issues - http:// (http://store.danase.com/)
b) Zaino Clear Seal (Z-CS) is a polymer product that will bond to a wax or oil-based product, ZCS is just a clear glossy layer without much of a look of its own (but locks in the look underneath it) -
