Looks like a centrifugal blower (supercharger) to me! What brand is it? Vortech, Paxton or Procharger? From the looks of the intercooler I'm calling it a Vortech...

That will wake that car up for sure!

I have had good luck with metal polish...I'ved used Mothers as well as Adams and have had excellent results with both. I'm sure almost anything AG sells here will do the trick for you. It is indeed aluminum. The bracket, blower and intercooler are all aluminum.

Take your time and polish it up...Keep us posted with pics before, during and after! It should really clean up well and get extremely shiny. PIA to keep clean, but it will be worth it when you pop the hood.

How much boost (psi) are you going to run and is there anything else done to your car?

Like Sizz sez that would not be a turbo and most car guys would slam you for even saying that but this is not a Mustang forum so you get a free pass from the normaly harsh Stang trolls.

I did a extensive build on a '97 T-Bird using a T-trim Vortech Supercharger. Many hours went into polishing various parts of that power plant.

My hands hurt just looking at that picture since I put so much into it.

I think I did a great job of the fuel line routing and utilized the fuel pressure regulator bracket for the EGR block off plate.

Some of the stuff I had powder coated Mirror Chrome like the aftercooler (not intercooler) and k-member. I ordered the chrome version supercharger kit so the "head unit" came polished. I can't tell if the one you have is the polished version but have fun working it and be sure to cover the blades. Make sure you have a safe tune once it's all installed and ready to fire up!

Or you can get real classy and call it what they used to be called. A "turbo supercharger".

1.) Degrease: Meguiar’s D108 (or similar)
2.) Polish: Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish
3.) Mother's PowerBall(s):
-assorted sizes;
-where/when the SC's components are "reachable".

Unless you clear it after you polish it, you'll be constantly polishing raw aluminum

I know it's not a turbo guys it's a Vortech kit which is a supercharger but that part is more or less a turbo and for the guy who asked I'll be pushing 10 to 12 psi and it's full bolt ons. cams long tubes etc.

And thanks for the info guys it should clean up good 👍

^^^That was me about the boost. Very nice. That will make some serious power my friend. The cams and exhaust will really help too! Very cool.

Keep us posted and let us know what it dyno's at after you are done!

Wow way cool!! When it is all installed let us know about the RWHP on your Stang. Another thing that I would look into....from 1 Mustang guy to another....when you start doing medium to heavy modding (like you are) on your ride; look at changing the gears in the oil pump on the 5.0. The metal is brittle and will break causing engine failure.

I can't find the article form Mustang and Fast Fords but when I do (I have all the Mustang Mags) I will let you know. They say changing the oil pump gear to the Boss 302 or aluminum billet gears will save you future headaches.

To be sure you might want to call someone that sold you the supercharger. Since you are doing some major engine work it does not hurt to change that.

You can also go on the ALLFORDMUSTANG forum and inquire too.

Either case.....your car ROCKS!!

all was done with just some heavy duty compound dad had laying around in the shop. my GG polisher a 3" LC Orange Flat Pad on speed 5 and took about 15 mins maybe less lol. pad turned black and smelled like beer afterwards but it cleaned up!! this is why I love detailing! may try to hit it with some aluminum polish now after this but definitely a good start for the kit being on the car and plummed.

and not to mention I hit the intake tubing trim pieces with mothers back to black trim restorer as they were so bad they were almost white. will eventually use some apc and my blackfire total trim sealant on it.
