Hello all. :xyxthumbs:

Still awaiting my Autogeek order (shipped today) so here's another time filler until my box of goodies arrives.

This little ute (truck) is a Toyota Hilux, or "Lux" as us Kiwi's call 'em. I say "little" because while in Florida for Boot Camp I couldn't help but notice - your trucks are MASSIVE!!! :dblthumb2: Saw a whole lot of lift kits & real BIG tyres over there. Very cool!!! :props:

Anyway - Hilux came to me via a dealership. They traded this in & as the condition wasn't great it ended up with me. For those who hadn't read my "typical kiwi ute" post - trucks like this are a fairly common for me to get in this condition.

On to the - how it turned up pictures - :dblthumb2:

Didn't scrub up to bad considering. Paint had a lot of RIDS that were far to deep to make any major improvement on but overall, happy with a generous 75% better than before score card.

Thank you all for looking. :dblthumb2:

I think you are underestimating the turn around mate.... 75% pfft.... looks more like 175% better to me....:applause:

And whilst I am not familiar with the Holden Kingswood, the 'Lux's' as you guys call them are a common site on our South African roads....

Man that car was in a state - nice save buddy :dblthumb2:

Thanks for sharing!!!!

Hey there Bill. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you my friend. Yep - they're cobwebs alright. I'm not a huge fan of spiders either to be honest. luckily poisonous spiders are very rare in NZ.

Hope the shoulders getting better Bill.

Wow! Thanks mate. Huge compliment! :dblthumb2: Much appreciated.

Yeah, poor old Lux looked as if it were only the spiders that loved it.

Cheers mate. :dblthumb2:

Appreciate the great compliments. Kinda neat having the before photos to remind you at the end what it was like when you started. You tend to forget what it was like as each section goes by.

Thanks Puckman. :dblthumb2:

Insanely incredible that people let them get to this state. Was a forestry contractors truck . . . why buy a black one? Probably bought a new black one too. :nomore:

Thanks mate.

That truly is one of the biggest turn arounds I've ever seen as well. It doesn't just look better, it looks GOOD! How many hours did you spend on it? Hopefully they paid you well.

Around eight hours on that from start to finish. Yeah, I don't do too bad out of these ones. This was a trade in at a dealership & years gone by most of this Hilux would've been repainted because they didn't think it could be saved. I can/have/do save dealerships thousands by fixing paint they would've had painted for a lot less than a respray.
