Yesterday Bob McKee and his wife Darlene headed down to Boca Raton (Florida) for the 9th Annual Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance. The Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance is the fastest growing Concours in the nation and the world's largest for charity, with the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County as the benefiting charity this year.

While Bob and Darlene were at the show they ran into Wayne Carini from Chasing Classic Cars. Wayne was the Master of Ceremonies for this year's event.

Bob managed to take quite a few photos while he was at the event. Check 'em out...:dblthumb2:

Beautiful cars! Flawless paint! Let the envy flow!

Side note - I saw the multitude of fire extinguishers around the cars. As someone who has never had a chance to go to such a nice car show - is this the norm? I can understand why given the age of some of these cars. In any case I hope to have the honor of owning such a car some day.

At many car shows you have to have a fire extinguisher. My Father and I both have them in all our old cars and I usually carry one in my DD. It never hurts to be prepared

I never really thought about fire extinguishers until I saw a 1971 Chevelle go up in flames.

To me, it seemed like a wise decision, especially with older carburated vehicles, that clearly aren't getting any newer. Seals dry out, gas may leak, exhaust manifolds get hot. There are many reasons! :dblthumb2:

I picked up a couple at Wally World and always have them right within reach below the driver's seat.

We used to go to a show all the time that required you have a fire extinguisher to get in and have it visible on your drivers floor.
We rarely go through the judging process but I know many shows won't judge your car if you don't have one too.

The only car I ever saw go up in flames was at a show, but in the parking lot. It was a late 70's Camaro that was parked in kind of tall grass and I think the catalytic converter was hot enough to start the dry grass on fire. It goes quicker than you think. That was the point I started keeping one in my dd

Hi Nick,
Great pics, I couldn't make it this year but I sent one of my customer's cars the Black Road Runner, the one with the fire extinguisher next to the tire ( do you have more pics?) ; we won the "Best Of his Class"
