Hello. :xyxthumbs:

Has been a little while since I posted any pics of whats been happening down here in New Zealand.

Patiently waiting for my order to arrive from Autogeek after sussing out some goodies at Boot Camp, thought I'd fill in some time & post a "show n shine" of something you guys in the States probably wouldn't see too often.

A 1979 Holden Kingswood.

Australian built GM product that has a bit of a cult following down here in NZ & over the ditch in Aussie too.

This one has been re painted a couple of years ago & wasn't in bad shape compared to the trashed paint I normally see. Pretty swirled up, lots of rotary holograms & some water spots to correct but over all, nothing too frightening.

Started out with the normal wash, paint decontamination, fine nano skin mitt etc. Sun came out for a few swirl shots to share.

As you can see - some great swirls & holograms to be polished out. :buffing: Megs 101 on 5 inch orange LC Hybrid, followed by Megs 205 on blue LC CCS 6.5 inch via Flex, topped with D156.

Sorry - only a couple of 50/50 shots as was pushed for time & time is $$$. (saving for my next trip to Autogeek. :props: )

Beautiful transformation! That red paint really glows!

Was that Single Stage or Base/Clear?

Thank you Mike. :dblthumb2:

Base/clear. Holden still use single stage for their red & white to this day.

Cheers for having a look mate.

Now that's a proper paint correction, polishing and sealing.

Excellent photography work to as you clearly documented the before and after condition using sunlight.

Top notch write-up Aaryn!

Nice job Aaryn. Glad to see the pictures of a different car than we are used to seeing stateside. Do you get requests for coatings?

Thanks for sharing!

I like the Holden version of the Kingswood:

way better than what GM-Chevrolet Division's Kingswood offered in the States:

Great job on that Holden! Very neat looking ride.

I too was totally expecting a station wagon with wood grain when I saw Kingswood in the title! LOL.

Thank you Lawrence. :xyxthumbs:

Guessing you may not be to familiar with Holdens either? Pretty sure they didn't go much further than Aussie & NZ.

Owner was suitably impressed. :xyxthumbs:

Cheers Bob. :dblthumb2:

They made some nice looking two door versions badged "Monaro" & a bit sportier, bigger engine etc that fetch good coin nowadays for a good example.

Thank you Mike. :dblthumb2:

Hahaha - thanks mate. I wish I had more, way more knowledge about photography. All I have is a little Canon camera but I do my best with what I have. :props:

The sun went & hid about ten minutes after the "before" pics were taken, then it rained almost the whole time I was polishing, only for the sun to come back out five minutes before I finished up. The polishing gods were smiling on me that day. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for checking it out Mike. Can't wait to get my order . . . give that PE14 a few hours work & crack open the Pinnacle advanced compound etc etc. :buffing:

Cheers Mike.

Thanks buddy. :dblthumb2:

I thought it may be interesting for a few people to see.

Umm . . . I don't push coatings that much.

A few reasons - people in NZ tend to be "reactive" more than "proactive". I would have to be certain in my belief that the client is truly listening to my advise & genuinely cares for their car enough before I would spend the time getting their car to the standard fit enough to apply a coating. Maybe that is a poor business strategy but one i'm happy with.

A local dealership sells thousands of $ worth of coatings a week on new vehicles. Unfortunately the guy selling the coatings has no knowledge on coatings, how to maintain them etc but is a great salesman. People buy these coatings thinking that its some miracle substance that gets applied (not correctly) to their nice new car & thats it - it will never get dirty or scratched etc ever again.

Anyway - sorry Mike - off track a bit there. I do apply coatings - a few trusted clients have had the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond coating treatment & with some great feedback too I must say.
Beautiful product IMO. :dblthumb2: But I wont waste it for $.

Thanks for looking Mike. :props:

. . . . to actually answer the question you asked Mike . . . yes, though not all that often.

Haha - sorry mate, I've got polish brain - two SUVs - buff, polish & waxed, one van the same (even got the ol Cyclo out for the roof :props: ) All had interior details too, & a Jeep Laredo for an interior & wax & its only Tuesday!? Boat for some polishing tomorrow & another SUV for interior, buff, polish & wax, a multi trophy winning TR6 for a show detail on Thursday + two harvesters & some finishing work on a Hyundai Santa Fe for a local paint shop . . . :buffing:
