I have 2 sample bottles of PLATINUM never used. I recall it was all the rage when it hit the market. Has hydro2 trumped it? I see the store only has the matte protection now. Yet they still have a web site/store.

Honestly that that line WAS EXPENSIVE.
And the results wasn't that good, durability sucked!!

Now i have used other spray on sealant from else where, they all never surprised me..

Like several products in the past 1-2 years at AG, it was a flash in the pan (wolfs and autofinesse are two that come to mind, although they are carrying a reduced lineup of AF) .

I still use permanon on wheels and will continue to purchase it through other outlets. I can only imagine that the cost is an issue for some. But for wheels and coated cars, it is ideal in my mind; and I got 6+ weeks of durability out of it when testing. The 100ml bottle will easily do 20 cars at a 5% dilution, so $1.60/application which isn't terrible for the huge time savings in application. I do think that hydro2 is just more popular around here.

Nowadays...
Consumers get to choose from several Sealants that
are marketed as being water-activated, (and/or water pressure-activated). IMHO: Their fate will ultimately be determined by those same Consumers.

I will miss the line, and yes it was indeed expensive. When used correctly, there has been nothing easier to use IMO. The gloss was notable, the protection was clear, and the installation/remove was simple. I found durability to be reasonable on the wifes truck which was garaged, although longer protection might have increased others use of it. Spray on, hose down, then used Master Blaster to remove all remaining water. Light wipe with damp towel to remove any waterspots.

To date I have not found any other spray (no wipe) that works like it. All the other streak terribly and needed additional wiping or buffing before they set it. I will miss Permanon and hope that it has additional formula updates, perhaps a pricing re-evaluation, and makes it back to AG.

Durability didn't suck at all. It lasted an entire NJ winter last year on a car that was washed maybe twice the whole time. It was beading like it was just applied afterwards.

Although I found the durability not to be that great, it was a very easy to use range of products. The glass cleaner and paint cleaners were excellent but expensive

I still have lots and will continue to use it on my wheels. Just did them today and I am still amazed how easy it was to apply. If it is no longer available then I'm lucky I have enough to keep fixed for awhile (bye the bye as we say in Canada I met the Canadian Distributor and even he said the price was "a little high" but worth it?

Yes the best glass cleaner and simple but effective platinum.
