I've got a matte black car to wash here in a few days...
Just wondering if optimum no rinse is ok to use on MATTE BLACK VINYL.
Thoughts or suggestions?

I wouldn't.
ONR-WS (Wash and Shine):
"The incredible formula leaves your vehicle extremely slick and glossy, like you just applied wax!"
ONR-WW (Wash and Wax):
"After you wash your vehicle with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax, you’ll immediately notice the crisp, clear reflections that the real carnauba wax imparts on the paint."

Test a spot. Then see if you should proceed. I think any gloss added to the matte vinyl would be temporary anyways.

Like said above, do a test spot. If there was going to be a problem the manufacturer would have put a warning on the bottle not to use it on a given surface.

How about Meg's D114?
If the OP wants an alternative for the ONRs...
That'd be my pick for WW/RW-ing matte! :dblthumb2:

How about Meg's D114?
Megs D114 adds nothing, cleans superbly, and can be diluted up to 256:1. I use it for rinseless, for QD, for dirty touchup spots, and even for panel wipe with 28% alcohol solution. :dblthumb2:

That's what I thought I have not tried it myself yet. I have used ONR on matte stripes before with no problem but if you want something that just cleans D114 sound like the better option.
If ONR is all you have Im sure you will have no issues.

So what product are you going to use on the matte?

I'm gonna try onr on a test spot, then wash it with gold class if that doesn't work

I have used ONR on interior trim and contrary to my expectation it did not increase the gloss at all. It will be interesting to see how your test section works but based upon my experience it may work without any problems

Washed the car today, but didn't take pics
The vinyl was in terrible shape, so i dont have any info to report other than a little trouble buffing off some streaking. Had it been in better shape, I might have noticed other issues, but I'm concluding that onr works fine on matte vinyl
