Breaking in the new Show Car Garage - 1932 Deuce Roadster! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-autogeek-s-car-week/88672-breaking-new-show-car-garage-1932-deuce-roadster.html)

Last night was our first Thursday Night Detail Class in the new Show Car Garage and it was killer!

First up... we buffed out this beautiful 1932 Deuce Roadster! I had machine compounded and polished the horizontal panels the previous Tuesday night live at the local car show but did not buff out the vertical panels.

Last night Robert DiTerrlizzi, Detail Dave and myself finished her out using Pinnacle compounds, polishes and waxes with the Flex 3401, Porter Cables and the 3" Griot's Garage Polisher which I used to machine sand the hood.

The paint was topped off with Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax for a deep, wet shine. This car is owned by Eddie Yoder who also builds custom high horsepower Ford Flathead Engines.

Last night we also knocked out Sam's beautiful 1956 Chevy Bel Air to prep it for the upcoming 23rd Annual Eckler's Classic Chevy Winter National Convention.

You can check the pictures out for this show car prep here,

Both cars were compounded, polished and sealed using the Pinnacle brand of compounds, polishes, waxes and coatings.

Thanks Rich, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to the thread.

I have pictures showing all the steps performed to get the paint to look this way if there's any interest. Including machine sanding the hood.

Mike, I never miss any of your comments or pictures. I enjoy them so much that I look at them over and over.

The cars look great and I'm sure others would like to see the pictures and comments as much as I would.

Maybe Yancy could do a video in the new Show Car Garage sometime soon. That would be really enjoyable also. We never get too old to learn about all of the latest products and machines.

You have contact with manufacturers and reps and we need you to pass along, to us, all of the inside information that we will never get to learn unless you tell us about it.

Thanks again for all of your hard work and letting all of us, car nuts, in on all of the latest information and products.

Beautiful work guys! :dblthumb2:

Thinkin' I should've stayed!!! I miss it already - posting cars like that doesn't exactly help though Mike!

Two stunning rides right there, the Corvette in the back looks pretty sharp too.

I'll put my hand up to see the sanding pics for sure!

Nice work sir!

That was a team effort. Detail Dave and Robert DiTerrlizzi and myself worked on this car. No time to process the pictures too many other hot projects taking me offline.

Beautiful !!!! That color is killer !!!

That's what everyone says when they see this car.

This car is a great example of TRUST.

I didn't know this guy from Adam and he walked right up to me at a night time car show and said,

If you want to use her for a demo go right ahead

So I took him up on his offer for the car show and then invited him to come back to be one of the first cars to get all prettied up in the new show car garage. I could have used anything I guess but I like "cool" cars not everyday cars so it worked out well in my opinion.

This Deuce Roadster is probably a 1/4 million dollar build and it's as nice as it looks in the pictures. The owner trusting me to machine sand the hood to remove the only visible RIDS was pure trust.

Way to break in the new shop Mike!

Thanks Mike...

There's been a couple people calling in asking what we used on the 1932 Deuce Roadster so here's a list...

Porter Cable 7424XP (http://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-7424xp.html)
5” Backing Plate (http://www.autogeek.net/lc43125.html)
Lake Country 5.5” Foam pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-beveled-pad-kit.html)

Orange for compound
White for Polish
Blue for waxing

Flex 3401 (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-orbital-polisher.html)
Hybrid Pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-hybrid-pads.html)

Orange for compounding
White for polishing
Black for waxing

For products we used,

Pinnacle Compound (http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-compound.html)

Pinnacle Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/best-car-finishing-polish.html)

For the 1956 Chevy we used,

Pinnacle Black Label Surface Cleansing Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/black-label-polish.html)

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating (http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-paint-coating.html)

For the 1932 Deuce Roaster we used

Pinnacle Liquid Souveran (http://www.autogeek.net/pinliqsouvwa.html)

I’d get at least 12 of these towels and then take care of them. Keep them off the floor. Wash them all together in a SMALL wash load using a microfiber detergent. Dry them in the dry together and then store them in a clean place so they stay nice. By themselves they are $7.00 a piece and a 3-pack in the link below they are $15.00

So buy 4 3-packs and you’ll have 12 towels and that’s enough to take care of your car and make a small wash load of only these towels.

Gold Plus Jr. 16” x 16” towels (http://www.autogeek.net/gold-plush-jr-towel-3.html)

If you're using a Porter Cable or any of the knock-offs of this tool then read this,
