I want to start detailing more seriously, so far I have done many cars for really cheap. I want to get a compounp so I will be prepared for what ever a potential client throws at me. So far I own Menz FP, and 106ff. I want to get a polish that does not dust or throw polish around. I finished my xmt#3, and I didnt like how it dusted alot. Oh, and I use a PC...

I have heard of people using a little optimum with their IP to stop dusting.
I wondered why bother and just use the optimum?

Thanks, Mike

Optimum is great! I think all their line is awesome! OC and OP didn't dust on me, even when using it on high heat outside. You can't go wrong with them.

The optimum line is still my *go-to* when using my rotary.

I guess I cant go wrong with the OC, I think I will get it. Unless someone convices me otherwise. I know I can finish with the 106ff after I use OC, seems like that will take care of most marring.

Any other opinions before I order???

You'll be sitting there all day using the PC with OPT.

OPT line has an insanely long working time, great for rotary but bad for DA.

I have used it with DA (the only machine I have used) and I love it! Works forever, and removing is a breeze.

Thats what I am worried about too. Someone told me to use 1/8th FP mixed w/ IP and that will get rid of the dusting. I have FP, if this works I am golden.

Has anyone else tryed this? Might there be any problems with doing this?

Try 106 with IP too and let me know what happens.

From personal experience mixing in some FPII with IP did decrease the dusting. Not completely but almost, a lot better than IP alone. I don't know how much that compromised the cutting ability though but I don't think it was much, plus it increased the work time since FPII can be worked longer than IP. I don't think mixing in some 106ff will help any since it also dusts.

Thanks, thats two people who have tryed it with good results. I dont see the diffrence with adding Final Polish to Int. Polish. When adding Op polish to IP, with seems to be well excepted. Sounds like its a good way to extend the polish time also.

When the weather and temps are not favorable to use Menz with out dusting ..I use a drop or 2 of Opt polish....it works like a champ....usuallly 1 drop to 3-4 drops of menz works out perfect....
