i walked in on a mine. Someone did a Brillo pad job and loads of scratches.. took a lot but the end result was very good
Rupes 21 with 6" green pad and FG400. some spots i had to send down with 1500 and follow up with 3000. Topped it with Blackfire paint sealer and Collinite

Very nice work!! It constantly amazes me what some people use to clean their cars, where do they even come up with the ideas?

thanks guys.. and i have no clue what people think when they grab Brillo or steel wool to clean paint.. this AINT a cooking pot or something along those lines.
Btw iv seen people removing snow and ice of the car with Snow shovel with steel blade on the edge!!!! now WTH lol…
Some people just treat their vehicles as a transportation device they just don't care, but when its a lease car and dealer gives them 1500$ or more fine they cry…
oh well without those people we would not have hobby lol..

I've seen people scrape snow off their cars with snow shovels.

Nice job! Did you say how long it took?

I detailed one for a guy who used a window ice scraper on the hood of his car, put some pretty bad gouges in the paint and he thought it was kinda funny :bash:

Look at it this way. At least you didn't have to clay it.

yeah lol..

Whole job took little more then 5h, the test spot took me about 15 min to figure what worked.. Point was not to make it perfect , but appealing to next buyer. Got most of the defects out in one stage with FG400 that made me happy. Left deeper rids. I did try to use Flex with LC orange pad but no go-i was disappointed . Rupes really cut much better here. And since i had experience with VW paint it worked out good.
thanks again for kind words guys.

looks great! One good thing about using a Brillo pad to clean your car it really get the dirt off. Better then clay? LOL

hahaha

when i did a test spot i realized how deep they were. i polished it first and said to myself holly scratches lol.. i did 3000 first and it was good but 1500 followed by 3000 did the trick…
i found few spots with some heavy duty paint stuck. there was no other way to remove it other then a razor blade. its a second car iv seen it on. That paint is resistant to solvents. hard as a rock too. I'm thinking that some spots they tried to remove that pair with brillo too :bash:

i was thinking that to but its first time i saw something like that.i didn't find any by the wheels front or back and none on front bumper. passat had it on the hood roof pillar, doors. corolla had it on doors.
and let me tell u i can almost scrape paint of the panel faster. this stuff was rock hard. had Tan shade, like antique white.
