I have leather seats in my car and there is a spot on the driver side seat where the black from the leather has worn away showing gray underneath. I'm guessing it is from where my belt rubs getting in and out of the car.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I was thinking of using Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric coating to fix the spot. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If gray is showing, it's the vinyl backing, not leather.

it's typically not that expensive to have an interior guy address such things. they know exactly how to address it so it doesn't make things worse and lasts as long as possible. just make sure he's good. check his work somehow. hard to say how to find someone good, but a good place to start is your local exotic car dealer. call the service manager and ask him who they use for interior repair.

What makes you say that?

I generally see grey on areas of black leather where the top colored coating surface has been abraded

I guess I'm jumping too far to conclusions as I've only experience this on side bolsters which I know are vinyl. The center of my seats are leather and are tan.

The area that is affected is the left side bolster on the driver side. The seats are Katskinz leather seat covers. They were applied by the dealership when I bought the car and they are out of warranty by a few years. I can't really complain since the car is a 2007.
