Hello, hope you guys are having a good weekend. So I removed my beige seat belts this week to clean them. I used oxiclean and meguiars degreaser and the result was really amazing.

Now I obviously need to protect them so I used carpro cquartz F&L coat. I carefully sprayed them down and tryed to get some good coverage since seat belts go through some abuse.

After application I put them in the dryer at medium temp.

Now after removing them, the seat belts are pretty stiff. The hydrophobic quality is great.
But after cleaning them they were silky soft, and not not so much. They feel Cakey.

Now I have two questions.

Will the soften up again with time? Or should I clean them again with degreaser and redo the process with a thin coat just on the surface?

From CarPro

How to use :

Clean very well the fabric/leather pre-coating using All purpose cleaner , dry it completely!

spray all over the surface and let dry , use heat gun to dry well or under sunshine

•Hopefully the seat belts' integrity has not been compromised, and will still be an effective personal restraint if/when needed.

•Next time you decide to clean and protect seatbelts,
-I suggest to use the following products:
