I washing my car (rinseless wash) the other day. I used the gold plush Chenille Mitts for the 1st time. I was getting that painted spot just inside the undercarriage when I for a brief second brushed up against the tire. I did wash my mitts that night. I generally wash them after a couple uses (eye test).

My question is should I be concerned about brake dust being on my rags, mitts???

Oh and I'm going to definitely use a dedicated rag or my wheel and tire rags, mitt for that painted spot in the undercarriage.

Hi, it may not be a general concern, but for me it is.

To avoid this from happening, I do wash wheels and wells first, and I have a dedicated chenille mitt for the underpants like the one you related.

The lower/under parts mitt will not be used anywhere else.

If I accidentally touch those parts with my wash mitt, it'll not be contaminated because surface was already clean the time I'm washing the car.

Those mitts are cheap in USA, I'd reserve the actual for lower parts and order a new one for the paint.

Just my thoughts

Best wishes.
