Does anyone have experience with this? Can you suggest a dilution for QD/Waterless?

Thanks.

I have used it at 1oz per gallon for all three purposes

It worked well

For a QD/Waterless solution...
Anywhere between 128:1 to 256:1 will work.

But:
I find mixing @256:1 ratio is usually more than sufficient.

Note:
I use distilled water for mixing purposes.

Bob, have you ever used it as a panel wipe to inspect results after compounding or polishing? Megs says to use at 15:1. I have been playing with a few different dilution ratios on paper but have yet to try them out.

I use D114 at the recommended 15:1 ratio
for a "panel wipe" product.

I use it at about 30:1 for panel wipe and then also use the same bottle for rinseless pre-soak washes. This dilutuon is also great for cleaning lightly soiled door jambs, and as a lube for a Nanoskin sponge. Amazing how many uses it has.

Do you make a PW solution with IPA and D114?

Sorry for the ignorance, but by PW do you mean "pre-wash" or "panel-wipe" either way, I've never combined the two before, are there advantages to doing so?

It was talked about in the D114 thread, users adding IPA to 114 to make 15% by volume, as a cheaper and seemingly better Eraser.

FWIW I have trouble finding IPA in larger quantities anywhere. Lowes, HD and other places only carry denatured alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is almost always IPA but none of the pharmacies around here have bottles bigger than 12 ounces, and it's usually 70% abv.

The only source I've found is quart bottles at a local electronics supply store, but it's also not cheap.

Sam's Club in and around the pharmacy dept. You'll need to do the math to dilute it to 15%, I don't think any place sells it at 15% as it wouldn't have it's necessary disinfecting properties at that low a dilution.

I found a 20oz bottle at Rite-Aid or Walgreens a while back that was 99% and the same price as the 70% stuff. It makes the math a whole lot easier and last a lot longer. It's weird where we find some of our detailing supplies.

Yeah, no, I want pure IPA. The electronics places sell 99.8% pure anhydrous IPA. I already buy deionized water so I shouldn't pay for more already mixed into IPA to make rubbing alcohol.

Lol true.

Wow, 256:1 talk about a little going a long way. Even as a QD. Amazing.
