Started with a basic wash, but ended up comparing two waxes. Plus, a follow up on PB Wheel Sealant.
Products used:
Soap: Duragloss #901 with an AG foam gun + Shmitt
Dry: Leaf blower with an Air Wand attachment & a Cobra Guzzler
Wheels: Duragloss #901 soap + Black Shmitt, EZ brush, Amazing Roll Off on the tires and wheel wells. Meg’s tire brush. Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel on the tires and No Touch spray on the wheel wells.
Wax: PB Natty’s Red & XMT 180. Applied with a Cobra MF Applicator Pad and removed with a Cobra Indigo MF.
Last Sunday I polished the car with XMT 360 and topped it with Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax. I drive the car every day to and fro work. Note the beading after one week:

On Sunday I also worked on my wheels. I had them refinished a few days before so after cleaning them I applied a coat of Poorboy’s Wheel Sealant. A week later the wheels were dirty but nothing like they used to get.

My Opinion: The PB Wheel sealant is easier to remove than the DP Wheel Glaze. It seemed to have helped keep the wheels clean after a week. I only used soap, no wheel cleaner. I’m still not fully convinced it is worth the effort. While washing the wheels I thought I had a couple of scratches but they tuned out to be sealant I have not completely buffed off. In other words, the PB Wheel Sealant is a great product, but takes a lot of effort to use.
Now, on to the wax. Soon I’ll be stripping down the finish to prep for a Concourse so today I thought I would experiment. I applied Natty’s Red to half the hood and XMT 180 to the other half.
Both waxes applied and dried for ten minutes:

My Opinion: Not a lot of difference between the two. Both went on and off easy, but XMT wins by a nose as it was a tad easier to apply (smoother) and to remove. Natty’s smells like a crayon and XMT 180 smells like grape bubble gum. I can’t tell any difference in finish looks. Maybe there will be a difference in a day or two. Next week when I wash I’ll see if there is any difference in beading.
