Hey guys, I want to detail my brand new car. It needs wax definitely. Could probably use a light polish since it has water spots probably from transportation for Michigan. What is everybody's suggestion? Its a dark blue so I'm concerned about surface scratches. I already use the 2 bucket wash system. Thanks in advance

Typical new car prep would be:
Wash
Clay
Check for iron decon (some people do this before claying)
Inspect to determine if compound/polish is necessary, probably just a light polish for new car if not dealer prepped
Wax/sealant/coating
Tire and trim protectant like ultima/Wolfgang/carpro
