Is it safe to clean auto carpet using the little tool attachment on a household carpet cleaner?

Yes. Just be sure to test whatever cleaning chemicals you plan to use in an inconspicuous area to ensure no damage to the fabric occurs during cleaning.

Just get Folex safe on every kind of carpet and you can buy almost anywhere.

Folex is great for most dirt and stains

It will not remove red stains like Gatorade very well

Not great on shoe polish, which recently learned requires a solvent based cleaner

This video by Jason Rose of Meguiar's is very informative

Does anything all that effectively?

Check out "Coastwide Supply" (I think that is spelled correctly), they DID carry a 'red dye remover' some years back. Maybe still do.

Supposedly this does

I have used the machine twice before, but soon after the second time I noticed that my carpet seemed to have shrunk and pulled away from where it was being held down. The only thing I could think of that could have done it was the machine. Any other explanations?
