the real thin cheap yellow foam applicators that i've used in the past have marred paint and i don't really use them on there anymore. i would rather use them on trim and to apply tire dressing and after a few uses since they're so cheap you can toss them. the newer megs foam applicators are better quality as they're thicker/softer and also the middle edge/seam doesn't stick out as much the cheaper ones..

bought a 60 pack on amazon for 10.99, if there not suitable for applying wax I will find other uses for them. couldn't resist with them being that cheap

They are pretty much junk, I wouldn't touch my paint with them. Like others said, maybe for trim and tires, applying protectant to dash, doors etc.

Those are really good for interiors and apply stuff to exterior plastics.

I think they are fine as long as you cut the outer edge off

We polish our paint with pads that are much more aggressive than these are. Definitely softer than a White or even Blue CCS pad

Ye I have a bunch of nice ones for the paint if need be, like anything else will reserve judgement till I have them in hand, and at worse I can use them for those uses you mention, win win IMO
