1954 Hudson Hornet polished with Rupes UHS (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-thursday-night-projects/86766-1954-hudson-hornet-polished-rupes-uhs.html)
Before Pictures
I practice documenting the true and accurate condition of all the cars that go through any of our garage projects and this last Saturday, during Autogeek's Cars & Coffee with Dennis Gage I took some great pictures using full overhead bright sunlight to capture the current condition of the paint on this classic and rare 1954 Hudson Hornet Convertible.

Since Dennis was here I asked him to give me a hand... literally....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87203
Thanks Dennis!
Here's a few more shots....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87209
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87210
And a few more....
The swirls have built up over the last decade or so since the custom paint job was sprayed on this car. This is normal as show cars tend to get wiped a lot but rarely re-polished the correct way.
Here's the rear driver's side fender...
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87211
Same area on the car only I've zoomed in....
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87212
Driver's door....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87214
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=87215
The other side and in fact the entire car pretty much is in the same condition.
So as you can see this car needs some polishing to restore it to a show car finish worthy of the Hudson marque....

Last night Todd Helme, the Technical Sales Manager for Rupes North America joined us for a Live Broadcast and after the broadcast we used the new Rupes UHS System to buff out this Hudson.
Both Todd and I did Test Spots and from experience we both agreed the custom paint job on this Hudson was on the hard side. That made this a perfect demo car for the new UHS polishing compound and UHS foam buffing pad.
Below are the pictures off my camera in the order they were taken....

We used this car for our "Cars & Coffee Tech Session", which makes Autogeek's Cars & Coffee unique among all the cars and coffee shows that take place early on Saturday mornings across the country.

For our Tech Session we demonstrated,
1. How to inspect the paint with your sense of touch and using the Baggie Test.
2. How to inspect the paint using overhead sunlight, overhead florescent lights and swirl finder lights.
3. How to use a Porter Cable 7424XP dual action polisher with Pinnacle Advanced Compound to remove the swirls.
4. How to use a Porter Cable 7424XP dual action polisher with Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish to maximize the gloss and clarity of the clearcoat finish after compounding.
5. How to use the Porter Cable to machine apply Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Carnauba Wax by machine.
