Well vacation time is over, and i have all my suplies around me, i got some stuff right before i went on vacation, and that had to be tested

Subject:

Graku Comp 13" rims

about 15 years sitting outside summer and winter makes things look kinda shabby, so when i found these wheels where my brother-in-law store them, i threw`em in the car (well thats in my wifes car that is)
and drove them home for some tlc

How they were at the start.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2854.jpg

Looks good???

Well then i had to bring in the team to restore it to a better shape:

P21s wheel gel (Euro style, but pretty much as the P21s WG that AG caries)
Megs hard wheel brush
Megs soft wheel brush
DG 591 marine and rv Wash C
old sponge

And her is the Euro P21s WG at work

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2873.jpg

These wheels may have needed some stronger stuff, but they are uncoated aloys, so i didnt want to try that.

Getting better, the P21s cleans great, 15 years of much gone, and i just used a garden hose, no HP washer

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2886.jpg

And i wanted to try to clay them, that was kinda Mission impossible, it was like trying to clay asphalt,

Start:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2891.jpg

Done:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2902.jpg

Straight in the garbage with that one i presume......(scratches is/was on them before i started)

Over to the Polishing prosses, i got the P21s polishing soap witch i realy like, also got the P12 (German P21s) witch seems to be almost the same as the polishing soap but the P12 a liquid type.

Goes on:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2907.jpg

P21s polishing soap after:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2913.jpg

P12 after:

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/truhaa/IMG_2914.jpg

And IMO the P21s is the winner of those two, they may have been kinda like, but its something about the Polishing soap thats makes me like that most, it got some more foaming, and the sponge that comes in the box is way, way better than the sponge in the P12 pack.

Duragloss #881 Metal Polish as a LSP on these rims, and i tryed the Duragloss #501 Marine RV polish just for fun also on one of these uncoated wheels.

The DG 881 states "makes aluminum shine like chrome", well it didnt do that to these wheels, but i guess these wheels were over the top regarding gloss some years ago, and its no "miracle" product made by Harry Potter either, but YES they ended up 100 times better than the state they were in when i started on them. so i can recomend the combo, and this was before i tryed the DG 881 and mother polishing ball, that combo was a killer, some more pics at the end of this post.

P21s Wheel Gel
P21s Polishing Soap
DG 881 Metal Polish

(the 501 also worked well, but im not sure how "smatr" that one is to use on uncoated alu wheels)

Finished, Didnt end up like "new", but as said, alot better imo

And here is some after the Mother polishing ball and DG 881 combo, buffed off with the Flitz..

Be amazed!!!

Some 50/50 shots

Guess witch one that has been polished.....

Is there another alu polish that is more "hardcore"?

Awesome review! You are making me want P21s... Nice write up and great pics. Is the color the only difference between yours and the one we have in the US? I know you said (Euro style, but pretty much as the P21s WG that AG caries) Just making sure...
Wow not bad at all for setting outside for 15 years....

Well Sparkie, ive tryed the P21s WG from AG, and they cleans pretty much the same, the biggest difference (i know of) is the colour and smell, the one AG carries smells good, this one doesnt...

Excellent! Looks like you put a lot of hard work on those wheels. I'm really impressed at how much the P21S gel took off. How long did you let it soak?

I just bought the polishing soap and now I'm really looking forward to trying it.

Truls..you may need a solid type metal compound and a sisal wheel for a drill to finish them up real nice....and actually Menzerna makes solid compounds that are for non ferrous metal like aluminum..but you need a sisal wheel for a drill...they are not expensive here...

here is the chart to the solid polishes from Menz....you may find them over there easier than here....

OK, thanks AL, ill try getting that from Menz, Sisal is what?

Sparkie: Gel is the preferd Wheel cleaner, it sticks better to the wheels, doesnt slide of that fast.

Reddwarf: i just let it sit for 10 min, and then worked it with a sponge and let it sitt some more before i washed them with the sponge/soap/water

Trul..sisal is a cloth type buffing wheel.....like you see here... Buffing Wheel Supplies Mops and Compounds (http://www.caswelleurope.co.uk/bufwheel.htm)

also S100 is a gel....s100 is the sister company of p21s..one is car care and one is motorcycle care....
