I started my sanding operation by using the GG3, Meguiar’s S3FI foam interface pad, Meguiar’s S3BP backing plate, and 3000 grit foamed backed 3M finishing disc to edge the panel before starting with the larger 6” setup. When sanding, I prefer to edge the panels with the smaller setup first as I can really concentrate on the edges an later on pick up the larger setup and just blend into the existing sanded areas.

I then blended and sanded the entire test panel down with a 3000 grit foam backed 3M finishing disc, Meguiar’s S6FI foam interface pad, and Meguiar’s S6BP cushioned backing plate designed for sanding operations attached to my G110v2 as motivation. Tool speed was set at speed two which was more than enough to maintain pad rotation during the damp sanding process.

After the sanding operation was completed I performed two panel wipe downs to ensure the surface was free and clear of debris with an IPA mixture at 17.5%. Two test sections were taped off for the 3401, white Hybrid pad, and 3n1 on the right. On the left side the PE14, white Hybrid pad, and 3n1 were utilized.

The “Smack Technique” was used during the process.

PROS:

Will remove 3000 grit sanding marks
Feels like working SI1500 in terms of feel
Leaves nice bit of protection behind

CONS:

Smears a bit on removal

So I guess with this demonstration you are ready to send me your trusted PE-14, since you did as good of a job with you Meg DA LOL!

Question: Will someone ever be able to pry that rotary out of your cold dead hand??

Seriously, did you take some PTG readings before the wet sanding, after the sanding and after the 3 in 1??

Hahahaha! Nice one!

Answer: No! That is an extension of my arms!

Man I wish I had an EPTG on hand for this test. I really need to pick one up.

Stay tuned for my last installment. I have an ace up my sleeve... (nothing secret)

Rob, thank you.

It wouldn't be as much as you would think. I have a U.S. P.O. box that delivers over here... Although I am finished for now with my testing.

I surely hope so!

Mike

Thanks so much for taking the time to conduct the test and document it. It makes it so much easier for us readers to know what to expect out of a product.
