This new product from Meguirs looks very interesting, it almost sounds too good to be true. It's $10 for 16 ounces, goes on like a wax except it's wife on wipe off (no hazing) so sounds super easy, and it says you can get many cars out of a single bottle. It's said to be super hydrophobic, and lasts for a solid year!!!!! At $10 a bottle remember!!!!

Like I said almost sounds too good to be true very interested to learn more about this new product.

Yeah, this sounds like the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

Edit: It seems that "looks" are not this product's strong suit. It seems to be targeted at the people who wax their car (and wash it?) once a year. I wonder if it will wind up being a topper for the enthusiast market.

Yeah, I was thinking it was probably more of a topper too, or even as an LSP after full paint correction. That much protection at that price point is pretty impressive though.

Yeah, maybe a base with a "looks" LSP on top...wait...that sounds like a coating strategy. This is a consumer-line product, so I'm not going to get my hopes up that it will be of that much interest to us "Geeks".

It may not be for us and our cars, but it sounds like a great upsell/add-on item for those of us in business detailing. Especially for those customers who are only once a year customers!

Normally I would agree with you on this, but it's not like we're talking about some knock off company or something here...

I'm just waiting for the store release, the sale, and to buy it in bulks!

Kind Regards.

Could someone confirm if the product offers any protection from UV or just beads water?

From Mike Stoops (Meguiar's)...yes.

Here's a great very informative thread from over at the Meg's forum.

can anyone who has used both the paint protect and opti-seal compare them to each other? they both seem to have basically the same/similiar directions...

I have yet to put any Meguiar's 365PP in a spray-bottle assembly ...such as Opti-Seal's...for delivery-system comparison testing; but, with 365PP having a viscosity of: 0.1 (Pa-s)...it's sounds quite feasible.

If not:
A little bit of Naptha added to the 365PP may facilitate
its sprayability.

However:
Being that I'm satisfied with 365PP's current "pin-hole" delivery system: I can't commit to whether I ever will conduct any such testing...as listed above.

I thought paint protect has to be wiped off and opti seal doesn't. I wish I read about opti seal before i bought the $100 bottle of hydro 2. Is opti seal getting better reviews than hydro 2?
