Had a client contact me about protecting his Tesla Model S and he wanted a ceramic coating. He had done a lot of research on-line and was set on having opti-coat applied to the vehicle. He plans on putting many miles on the car and having it for many years to come, longevity was the key factor.

After going back and forth on a drop off date, we were finally able to work a date out. The customer had been driving the vehicle for a week since taking delivery of it and had already put on 1200 miles. The condition that I received the car in was far from new car status. I found several rock chips, car covered in water spots that would not wipe away, and crazy swirls and holograms on both fenders and doors (manufacture installed i assume). Needless to say my work was cut out for me. I was able to restore this new car back to its new condition and deliver it to the client looking better then the day he took delivery, just a short, rough, week ago. Enjoy.

Your new car or any car shouldn't have these

Time after time we see this kind of delivery on most vehicles. Swirls already instilled into the paint upon pick-up. Wow.... Great job at giving the owner, what was suppose to be done right the first time. Love that shine :)

Seeing pictures like that make me mad. You get a brand new vehicle that's worth XX,XXX (or even XXX,XXX) and someone swirls the paint right off the bat.

It's so disappointing on such a beautiful car. Brand new, too!

Alas. I'm talking to people that share the same view.

Great work getting that vehicle ACTUALLY brand new looking! Part of me would want to do half a panel, like you did, and bring it back to the dealership to show them what a joke they are.

I wonder if your client realizes that the amazing finish wasn't due to opt-coat, but rather the correction you did.

Great job!

bring it back to the dealership to show them what a joke they are.

Every good detailer should start doing this. I don't know if its the dwaler or a detailer that works for the dealership and just does a half ass job. That was my situation. A detailing business is next door to the dealership and they just pump them out. They don't care how it looks

Thank you all for the kind words everyone.

I'm not sure if this came from the dealer or what exactly. The client told me that he ordered it online and then the vehicle was built and then delivered to his house. Never stepped foot in a dealership. It was strange that both sides mirrored the damage. Half of the fender and half of the door. Rest of the car was pretty good.

The kicker to all of this, I had to point this damage out to the client! He said he had never noticed, in a week and 1200 miles. Again, it left looking better then when he got it and that was what made me happy!

Beautiful work good sir. That is how a new car should look. Hologram free.

Fantastic job on the new Tesla. I was fortunate to participate in a drive event with the Tesla and was blown away on how well that car drove. It really is a credit to that company that their first clean sheet design is so well executed. (BTW, I am definitely not in the target demo for a new Tesla. But hopefully some of that tech should pass down to lesser priced vehicles)

The tech in the car is insane. Of course i didn't get to really drive it but it was still in awe of all the gadgets and computer interface. 8 year unlimited mileage warranty on the vehicle and also the same for the batteries. It will be interesting to see where this takes us in the future of cars. Don't get me wrong I hope my car always has an engine, makes noise, and I can manually shift the gears!

The factory / final processing causes all that damage, keeps detailers employed!
