Wavy leather

Alright, so back in july, my girlfriend and I made our first roadtrip together down to Cocoa Beach, FL. On our way back. I decide to move our small cooler onto my backseat and put a towl underneath it. Well, when we got home and after unloading everything. The towel was suprisingly wet and the leather reacted to it and is now all wavy in the butt of the seat. I cleaned and conditioned the area yesterday (finally got to it, i know i shouldnt have waited so long) and its still basically the same. I used what was left of my Sonus leather cleaner, let it sit for 30 min. and then applied Wolfgang leather conditioner by hand. Any ideas of how i can straighten this out?!:(

the first is with the flash and the second without...im on the east coast...and its kinda a bad time to take pics especially with tint...

You know it might just be that the leather is stretched out, so its not staying nice and tight on the seat. I think I have seen that before. I dont believe there is any thing you can do really. Was there lots of weight on the seat? The water might have had something to do with it as well.

No, there wasnt A LOT of weight, just a small cooler of drinks and ice....i think the water def. had something to do with it...i thought there was a way to shrink the leather up?:confused:

Re-wet the seat (do not soak) and apply heat, FL sun would be ideal, or if PA you'll have to use a hair-dryer. Once it dries out it will probaly go back to near original sizing.

Then apply a leather conditioner

ok...well, should i re-clean the area to remove the conditioner? and then start your process? Would a heat gun be too much?

Sounds like a good idea!
Remember to condition leather regularly (with window tint - every 3 months, without - every 2 months...apply a protectant in between).

still didnt answer my questions guys!....im running out of daylight....should i un-condition the area before wetting it?

well, i didnt wait for any responses so here are the results...i just sprayed water on without de-conditioning the leather.

Once the lather has dried; condition and re-start the damp / heat again. If you're careful with the heat gun and DON'T get too close to the surface (too much spot heat) but keep it moving it should improve (don't expect 'looks like brand new' though)
