Hello all,

So I managed to get several zinc oxide hand prints on my car's Titanium Silver exterior. I had been getting the little one ready for school and didn't wash my hands after applying some spray sunscreen. I've tried rubbing it off with microfiber and clay bar but that stuff is baked on there and doesn't want to come off at all. If I rub it with a finder the color will disappear for a few moments then will come back after a few moments.

It doesn't look like much in the pictures but it really stands out; there's other prints like it on the driver's and rear passenger door and gas cap cover.

A friend mentioned that I should try a light compound and see if that does the trick, but I wanted to see what you all have to say as far as recommendations go.

I already have Klasse AIO and Sealant Glaze as well as a Porter Cable random orbital that I've used somewhat fairly regularly, but I haven't been brave enough to do any polishing, and didn't want to use the AIO until I was certain it wouldn't make thing's worse.

Thanks for your help!

Cleaning/removing minerals, like metals, is typically best accomplished with an acid. In your case a water spot remover would be WAY safer than an acidic wheel cleaner, but a mild acid wheel cleaner would be another option that I cannot take any responsibility for.

You may want to try iron-x as well, but I do not know if the active ingredient would bind to zinc, I certainly wouldn't expect a color change.

Try a little of the Klasse AIO that you already have

The cleaners in it may be just the ticket

mineral oil, baby oil should do the trick.
this is what I do on interiors.
