Over Waxing!!! Not Good???

is There Such Thing ? Ive Clayed My Paint Then Polished In Janurary. Since Then Ive Been Washing Weekly And Waxing Every 2 Monthes. And It Looks Great If I Might Say That:d Do I Need To Remove All Wax Soon?i See Aloty Of Guys Dawn Wash Every Now And Then To Start Fresh. Do You Really Need To Do That ? Doesnt Wax Brake Down On Its Own ?

Over time you may notice that the paint won't be as clear as it was when you began waxing. It won't hurt the paint if you wax a lot but it may hurt the looks. Some people like to stip all wax and sealants off every 3-6 months and redo to keep that fresh detailed look. If you somehow get contaniments on the paint and keep waxing over them, then you may want to consider removing it and starting from the beginning again. It's personal preference though...

It's been said on here that too many layers of wax will start to affect the clarity. I start over two or three times a year on my cars. Usually clay-polish if necessary-paintwork cleansing lotion-glaze-wax.

you can get certain cleaners (like dp cleanse all) that you can mix into your wash, so when you wash it strips the wax too.

How about a very heavy dilution of car wash shampoo?

I use NXT mixed with Bug Squash. Then depending on how the car looks I may use mixed alchohol.

You can strip with Dawn (no flames, I know there is a dispute on this) or CG Citrus Wash. Either will strip the wax. Probably any car wash soap, especially a citrus, will at the right concentration.

I find when polishing is not needed, but you want to make sure all old wax is gone. A couple items work well. Pinnacle or P21S paint cleanser. A wipe down with Isoporyl Alcohol or 3M's Wax and Adhesive Remover.

It did seem to me that the more you waxed your car , the more you had too,to keep that wet look.
