4 inch Pads on 3 inch Orbital?

I am preparing to paint, cut, and polish (for the first time) a motorcycle that I have been building for two years. I bought a Griots 3 inch Random Orbital and I want to use Meguier's Products (M105, M205, Show Car Glaze). So my question is can I use Meguier's 4 inch pads on the Griots 3 inch RO to cut and polish a gas tank and fender.

Does anyone know if there will be any issues? I am going for perfection, so I won't use them if they the pads or machine will not perform correctly.

You will be perfectly fine

Lots of people use 4" pads with the GG3 and the backing plate it comes with

I just measured a few of my Meguiar's 4" pads and the velcro backing is actually about 2 7/8". I have a few different 3" backing plates and they all measure out at 2 3/4", so I'd say you should be fine.
